Say goodbye to my little fat friend. Today we say goodbye to the Apple Fat Nano or the Apple Chubby.
Believe it or not this slim little chubby device has only been on the market one year. Released in September of 2007. It has to be one of the shortest shelf lifes of any Apple iPod device.
I believe this was a pretty successful device. It's small, has a great screen, and really easy to slip into your pocket. My guess is you'll be able to pick these up on clearance or from the Apple refurbished store for $99 or less very soon.
Here are the Top 10 Reasons the Ipod Fatty did not make it past it's first birthday.
1. It's fat girth reminded too many Americans that they need to lose weight.
2. Technology years ahead of it's time.
3. Screen too small. I did develop eye strain while watching an old episode of Star Trek in the crapper. Plus I almost dropped this in the toilet by accident.
4. It didn't work with my old Nano accessories like Nike arm band etc.
5. Apple didn't develop a successful ad campaign around the device. Like I'm a fat nano and I'm a skinny nano.
6. Controls are too small for the average American's chubby little fingers.
7. Toddlers swallowing device by accident because they thought it was a toy.
8. Accidently ends up in the wash and dryer in front pants pocket because it's so small.
9. iPhone was just too popular.
10. That song by "Feist" was just too annoying. You know "1,2,3,4, tell me what you're looking for.."
